Welcome to the First Baptist Church,
Bronxville, New York.

Church Mission Statement

It is the mission of the First Baptist Church of Bronxville, New York to reach out as a caring and Christ centered Church to people of all cultures and races, helping them to know God and find fellowship with each other through Jesus Christ to the glory of God.

Church Covenant

We, the members of the First Baptist Church having accepted Christ as our personal savior and followed Him in baptism, do now joyfully and solemnly enter into covenant one with another.

That we will devote ourselves to the love, obedience and service of Jesus Christ; we take His word as the law of our lives; we promise to follow Him in all things, to walk with his disciples in love, and so to live as to hasten the coming of His Kingdom.

We promise to pray and labor for the spirituality and prosperity of our Church; to help in sustaining its worship and ordinances; and to devote ourselves gladly to the carrying of the Gospel throughout the world.

Our Pastor

Reverend Lamont S. Granby, is the son of Samuel & Ayris E. Granby, born in New York City, and raised in New Rochelle, New York. He was educated in the New Rochelle public school system. Upon high school graduation, Rev. Granby attended the University of Pittsburgh, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. In order to assist his father in the family business, he then attended the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service. He later received his Masters of Divinity from Drew University.

Reverend Granby is a son of the The Bethesda Baptist Church of New Rochelle, and was licensed to preach April 22, 1998. He was ordained February 16, 2002, at The Bethesda Baptist Church of New Rochelle, by Reverend Dr. Allen Paul Weaver, Jr. Reverend Granby served as the Assistant to the Pastor under Dr. Weaver, until he was called to Pastor himself. On March 28, 2010, Reverend Granby was installed as the 20th Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in Bronxville, New York. He is the first African-American Pastor of this 160 year old historic church.

Reverend Granby is involved in a number of national and community organizations. He is a Life Member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., in the Beta Psi Sigma Chapter, which serves Westchester County and the Bronx, in which he served as a Past President and Chaplain. He is currently the President of The Clergy Coalition of the 47th precinct, a member of the New York State Funeral Directors Association Ethics Board, member of Metropolitan Funeral Directors Associations, the Community Action Board of Montefiore Hospital, as well as the Clergy Liaison for the 47th precinct The Bronx, N.Y.P.D., and lastly serves on the College Careers Board in Westchester County.

Over the years, Reverend Granby has been actively involved in the mentorship of male youth, both in the church and community-wide. He has not only organized culturally enriching and fun-filled activities, but has given a great deal of his time and attention to the young males entrusted to his care. Through his family business, he has presented numerous scholarships to college-bound high seniors throughout the New York metropolitan area. He was raised to believe in the importance of giving back to the community in any way possible. He continues in his role as Pastor to mentor and counsel those in his congregation and beyond.

Reverend Granby is married to Felita Granby, and they are the proud parents of three adult children: Martine Nicole, Kyle Nicholas, Jordenn Nicollette, and dotting grandparents to Lilie-Rae Dominque.

Reverend Granby?s favorite scripture is Romans 8:38-39,
